Aaron Ralph Thomas, of Burlington NJ, was called to heaven on November 26, 2018 at the age of 52.
Aaron was the devoted and loving husband of Wendy C. Thomas, the love of his life and wife of
over 24 years.
Aaron, affectionately known as "The Big A" was fourth born child to parents, Alvin and Jacquelyn (Hamiter) Thomas on June 24, 1966 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His education began in Goochland, VA where his older sister, Andrea, taught him to read, write, and tie his shoes because there was no kindergarten in their town. Up until the day of his passing,
he still couldn't tie his shoes right. He participated in a childhood basketball recreation league. He was educated in Richmond, Virginia, and Atlanta, Georgia culminating in finishing high school in Willingboro, New Jersey. In high school, he was active in track and field.
As a young child, he was an avid comic book collector - especially Marvel and a science enthusiast - primarily astronomy. Young Aaron started venturing into entrepreneurship by selling comic books and candy. As an adult, Aaron was vehemently opposed to gambling as a result of losing his prized telescope in a childhood wager with his brother, Al (Rob).
Following high school, Aaron served our country in the United States Air Force for 10 years and was honorably discharged in 1994, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was stationed in Mississippi, Alaska, Maine, and finally New Jersey where he met the woman who captured his heart – his wife, Wendy. Wendy and Aaron started out as friends, each claiming the role as the other's "buddy" until their relationship blossomed leading unto marriage.
Aaron earned his Bachelor's degree from Rider University and worked for McGraw Hill and later Amtrak before founding his first business, Supermarkets to Go, a grocery home delivery service that was years ahead of its time. His background in the military commissary gave him the foundation to start this business. His entrepreneurial spirit continued to burn and he later founded Your World Productions, beginning as a wedding videographer and photographer, and eventually
focusing on corporate video and teleprompter services.
Aaron worked tirelessly and successfully as an entrepreneur and author, helping hundreds of clients, from students at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School to well-known personalities and celebrities, who will remember him for his expertise, his professionalism, excellence, and his personal dedication to their success. In the last few years, he had begun branching out into authority marketing creatively promoting his clients' businesses.
Aaron's personality and sense of humor was contagious. He loved God, family, friends, and his church - Converge Church (formerly Maranatha). Serving in Converge Church's video ministry, Aaron played an integral role in putting into place a system to tape services as well as facilitating the streamlining of the live feed of the service to different parts of the building.
During his down time, Aaron enjoyed chess, spades, bowling, watching football, baseball, basketball, hanging out with friends and family. He was a die-hard Eagles and Phillies fan. He enjoyed going to the beach, but he was a beach snob so he primarily vacationed with his wife, Wendy at Clearwater Beach, Florida. He enjoyed fine dining where Cracker Barrel and Wawa topped the short list.
He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him, but we are comforted with the memories of how he touched each of our lives. He always had a big, bright smile and he genuinely cared about people. He believed in investing in people and made a significant impact on all those whose lives he touched. Many looked up to Aaron as a mentor and close friend. He was also generous to a fault.
A man of God, husband, son, brother, and friend, Aaron leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Wendy C. Thomas; father, Alvin Thomas, Sr.; step-mother, Yolanda Pettiford; sister, Andrea H. Riley (husband, Clifton); brother, Alvin Robert Thomas, Jr. (wife, Elaine); and sister, Alesha L. Thomas; nieces and nephews, Julian, Destiny, Eternity, Nashae, Brian, and Tiara; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, and church family. Preceding Aaron in death
were sister, Angela Thomas; and mother, Jacquelyn Hamiter Printup.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Aaron's life celebration on Thursday, December 6, 2018 with a viewing from 6:00 to 7:00 PM followed by his Homegoing Service at 7:00 PM at the Converge Church (formerly Maranatha Church), 802 N. Lenola Road, Moorestown, NJ 08057. Interment will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 9:00 AM at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle New Jersey State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown (North Hanover Township), NJ 08563 (609-758-7250)
