Obituary

Anne Margaret Edge (neé Boyer) passed away on November 29, 2020 at the age of 96.

Anne was born in Bristol, PA in 1924, the daughter of Joseph Boyer and Anna Barteck. In 1946, she married William Warren Edge, with whom she had five children: William, Earl, Shirley, Audrey, and Sandy. After her husband's sudden death in 1965 at the age of 45, Anne returned to full-time work at a number of jobs, including W.W. Criswell and Rohm & Haas. In early 1976, she began working at Wood River Industries in Riverside, manufacturing light fixtures, and remained at that job for nearly thirty years, retiring shortly before her 82 nd birthday. On top of this, she bartended for a number of years while working full-time during the day, including stints at the Pavillion and the Roma Club. Some patrons were lucky enough to hear her rendition of Patsy Cline's "Crazy," her favorite song.

Throughout her life, Anne fiercely defended her family and set a strong example of hard work and dedication for them. When her husband passed away, she worked tirelessly to keep her family together and care for her children. Later, she played a key role in raising her grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles and game shows. Anne was also a devoted Phillies fan who watched or listened to every game.

Anne was predeceased by her husband, William; her younger brother, Joseph; and three children, William, Earl, and Shirley. She is survived by two daughters, Audrey and Sandy; three grandchildren, Thomas (Trinidad), Michael (Jaime), and Christopher (Lauren); and five great-grandchildren (Michael, Ligaya, Jack, Ayla, and Liam).

In keeping with Anne's wishes, funeral arrangements are private, with internment at Beverly National Cemetery in the spring beside her late husband. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
