Obituary

Barbara Wajda (nee' Jackson), age 91, a longtime resident of Cinnaminson, NJ passed peacefully surrounded by her family on February 2, 2025.

Barbara was born in 1933 to the late Marjorie (nee' Rousseau) and Elmer "Mike" Jackson and grew up in Collingswood, NJ. Barbara graduated from Collingswood High School at the age of 16 in 1950 and attended the College of South Jersey. She worked for Smith Kline French prior to meeting her husband. Barbara married Chester Wajda in 1957 and they lived in the Mayfair Section of Philadelphia for several years where she helped Chester run his pharmacy. In 1962 they moved to Cinnaminson, NJ where they have remained since.

Barbara was a devout Catholic and was a founding member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and School in Cinnaminson. As a parishioner there she was an active member, and past president, of the Altar & Rosary Guild, volunteered her time to the school when her children attended, and supported the church in many ways. Barbara has been an active member and communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Riverton for over 30-years, serving on the Requiem Choir, actively participating with the Catholic Daughters and volunteering in service to the church.

Most of all, Barbara loved taking care of her family, supporting her husband and their six children as they grew up, as well as their grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 68-years, Chester Wajda, her loving children, David Wajda and his wife Mary Annis, Terese O'Callaghan and her husband Jim, Nancy Munyan, Michael Wajda and his husband Jim Nebelung, Karen Hatch and her husband Ron, and Kenny Wajda and his wife Sarah. Also surviving are her dear grandchildren, Nicole Deusinger and her husband Kenny, Stephanie Burckhardt and her husband John, Megan O'Callaghan, Christian Munyan and his wife Bailey, Kevin Munyan and his partner Hannah Young, Mary Kate Palfini and her husband Larry, Peter Wajda, Katie Wehrle and her husband Elliot, Annie Hatch, Collin Munyan and Samantha Wajda. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Hunter O'Callaghan, and Khloe, Eddie & Drea Burckhardt, along with her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her brother, William Jackson and brother-in-law, Henry Wajda.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Visitation and Funeral Mass on Friday, February 7, 2025 with the Visitation from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the WEBER FUNERAL HOME, 112 Broad St., Riverton, NJ 08077 followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at SACRED HEART CHURCH, 4th Street & Linden Avenue, Riverton, NJ 08077.
