Barry J.L. Horton of Philadelphia passed away peacefully on Sept. 30 th . He was 69.
Barry was born in Fort Dix, NJ, to the late Paul and Phyllis Horton and grew up in Beverly, NJ. He received his bachelor's degree in journalism from Rutgers University in 1994. Barry enjoyed a career as a freelance writer, even having two books published. While battling MS, Barry resided at the Inglis House in Philadelphia, where he was the Scrabble and Trivia Champion for several years. Barry was also a diehard Eagles (Iggles) and Phillies fan.
Barry was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, brother, Richard Keith, and niece, Juliette. He is survived by siblings Robert "Terry" (Bonnie), Cynthia Lee (the late George W.) Pierson, Phyllis Dawn, sibling/cousin Dawn Rene (Mark) Jungblut, nieces/nephews, Ashley (North) Horton-Adkins, Alex Horton, Andrew Horton, Jason (Allison) Pierson, Elizabeth (Rob) Wiener, Emily (Jonathan) Jungblut-Swinarsky, Ryan Garrick-Horton, and Andrew Garrick-Horton.
Services and interment will be held privately at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.
