Bertram P. Miles, III, "Bud", age 91, longtime resident of Cinnaminson, NJ passed peacefully at his home on March 25, 2026.
Bud was born in 1935 to Mabel and Bertram P. Miles, Jr. and grew up in Magnolia, NJ. He graduated from Haddon Heights High School and went on to graduate from Rutgers University. Bud was an excellent baseball player, as the starting first baseman all four years of college.
Following college, he was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves and began his career in public education. Bud was an Industrial Arts Teacher, specializing in Wood Shop. He taught in Deptford, Willingboro and ultimately retired from Cherry Hill West. Continuing his love for baseball, Bud coached at the school during his time at Willingboro. Following his retirement from teaching, Bud was the owner and operator for over 15-years of Industrial Spray Finishing & Silk Screening in Cherry Hill.
Bud's real passion was woodworking. He could build anything out of wood, from house framing, finish carpentry, furniture making and boat building. He built eighty-four Barnegat Bay Sneakbox boats which became nationally renowned for their quality construction and attention to detail. Bud was also an accomplished wood carver specializing in duck decoys and shore birds
When he wasn't working, or in his woodshop, Bud was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved being on the water down at LBI, trolling for fish in his beloved 31-foot Bertram.
He was also a faithful and avid Phillies Fan, but most of all he was a devoted husband to his wife Jane. They spent fifty-seven wonderful years together, including countless special moments with their families and friends.
Bud is survived by his beloved wife Jane Miles (nee' Shaffer). Also surviving are his cousin Allan Dale Miles and wife Nighsty, his brother-in-law Charlie Conyers, and many nieces, nephews and their families, along with many friends.
