Cummings
Oct 13, 1941 — Jan 13, 2023
Carol Ann Cummings, 81, of Willingboro, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2023, with family by her side. She was born to the late Charles and Esther Watson on October 13, 1941, in Birmingham, Alabama. Carol graduated from Oak Ridge High School in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, in 1960 and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics from the University of Tennessee in 1964. After college, she moved to New York City, where she met and married the late Robert Cummings in 1965. Briefly, they lived in St. Louis, MO but mostly spent their 55 years together in Willingboro, NJ raising their family.
Carol is survived by her son Bryant with wife Cathy of Lancaster, Pa., and daughter Amy with husband Bob LePage of Cinnaminson, NJ. She is also survived by her loving sister Katie Monticone of Sydney, Australia. Carol was known as Mimi by her five loving grandchildren, Emma, Grace, Allison, Abriel, and Alexander. Many family relatives, nieces, nephews, and cousins loved her. Her husband predeceased Carol in 2021.
Carol led a very active life. Early in her professional life, she was employed as a preschool teacher and later retired from the Burlington County Times, all while she raised her children. Carol was an accomplished award-winning artist; she was a longtime member of the Del-Val Decorative Painters Chapter, where she served as a member and president over the years. She enjoyed painting and used her talents for volunteering and donating to charitable causes. She often painted cherished gifts for family and friends, which brought her much joy. Carol also enjoyed gardening, crafting, sewing, knitting, and listening to classical music. She was a world traveler with her husband, exploring Europe, Australia, the Caribbean, many areas of the United States, and many other destinations. She had a great interest in learning about cultures, visiting museums, and sightseeing. As a grandmother, she devoted her love and time to caring for her grandchildren, with countless hours playing games, crafting, baking, and going on walks together. She also enjoyed watching all of their sporting and school events. She was always their biggest fan. Mimi was incredibly proud of her family and left many beautiful, cherished memories behind.
