Charles "Bob" Irons

Age 89, Philadelphia PA native, Palmyra NJ resident.

Bob passed away peacefully on January 19, 2023 at Greenfield Assisted Living, Schwenksville PA. Born in Philadelphia, PA on January 1, 1934 to Marie and Charles Irons, their only child.  He grew up in the Bridesburg section of Philadelphia, attended Mastbaum High School and played football for his beloved Venango Bears Football Association. He studied commercial art at Mastbaum and spent his young life perfecting his artistic talents. He served in the US Army from 1952-1954. After being Honorably discharged he met and married his lifelong spouse of 60 years Patricia Curran from the Port Richmond area of Philadelphia. They moved to Palmyra, NJ where they lived at the same address for 55+years. They raised 5 children: Scott, Charlene (Townsend), Mark (d), Suzanne (Ostberg) and Todd. They were grandparents to 5 grandchildren Patrick Casale, Eric, Jessica, Chad and Kimberly Irons, and great-grandparents to Peter, Arya, Blake and Reese.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and his funeral service at 11:00 AM all at the Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad Street, Riverton, NJ 08077. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 W Cheltenham Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19150.

The Irons family welcomes all family, friends and well-wishers. We will remember Bob but also his beautiful bride Pat who was denied the a fitting farewell due to Covid restrictions of May 2020.
