Chester A. Wajda, age 95, a longtime resident of Cinnaminson, NJ passed peacefully surrounded by his family on July 31, 2025.

Chester was born January 13, 1930 in Philadelphia to the late Rozalia (nee' Wnek) and Antoni Wajda, where he grew up in the Port Richmond section of the city. He was a proud graduate of North Catholic High School and was a member of the Polish American String Band, playing the clarinet. Following high school, Chester spent time as a Baker's apprentice and Plumber's apprentice before finding his calling as a Pharmacist. He graduated from Temple University in 1953 with his degree in pharmacology, obtaining his pharmacist license.

Chester then established his own pharmacy, the Wajda Pharmacy in the Tacony neighborhood which he proudly operated from 1953 through 1967. Chester married Barbara (nee' Jackson) in 1957 and they lived in the Mayfair Section of Philadelphia for several years before moving their family to Cinnaminson, NJ in 1962, where they have remained since.

With a growing family, Chester moved on from his own pharmacy to a long career with Walgreens where he was the head pharmacist at their Willingboro store for many years. A hard worker, Chester also worked part-time for Eberly's Pharmacy in Palmyra, NJ for many years. Following his service with Walgreens he continued to work for Rite Aid Pharmacy and Foodtown Pharmacy well into his seventies.

Together with his wife, Barbara, they were founding members of St. Charles Borromeo Church and School in Cinnaminson and had been an active member and communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Riverton for over 30-years.

Chester loved their home in Cinnaminson and enjoyed gardening. He planted and maintained a beautiful rose garden and planted a large vegetable garden every year. His garden always grew the best tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and he even planted grape vines that produced wonderful grapes. He also enjoyed baking and was famous for his potato pancakes, Jewish apple cake, pound cake and Christmas cookies.

Most of all he loved his wife Barbara, their six children and the family they shared with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Chester was predeceased by his beloved wife of 68-years, Barbara Wajda (nee' Jackson), earlier this year. He is survived by their loving children, David Wajda and his wife Mary Annis, Terese O'Callaghan and her husband Jim, Nancy Munyan, Michael Wajda and his husband Jim Nebelung, Karen Hatch and her husband Ron, and Kenny Wajda and his wife Sarah. Also surviving are his dear grandchildren, Nicole Deusinger and her husband Kenny, Stephanie Burckhardt and her husband John, Megan O'Callaghan, Christian Munyan and his wife Bailey, Kevin Munyan and his partner Hannah Young, Mary Kate Palfini and her husband Larry, Peter Wajda, Katie Wehrle and her husband Elliot, Annie Hatch, Collin Munyan and Samantha Wajda. Chester is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Hunter O'Callaghan, and Khloe, Eddie & Drea Burckhardt, along with his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Henry Wajda and brother-in-law, William Jackson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Viewing and Funeral Mass on Thursday, August 7, 2025 with the Viewing from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM and Prayer Service from 10:15 AM to 10:30 AM both at the WEBER FUNERAL HOME, 112 Broad St., Riverton, NJ 08077 followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at SACRED HEART CHURCH, 4th Street & Linden Avenue, Riverton, NJ 08077.
