Christopher L
Mochernuk
Nov 30, 1974 — Sep 15, 2025
Christopher Lee Mochernuk, age 50, of Haddon Township, NJ, formerly of Delran, NJ, passed suddenly on September 15, 2025.
Growing up, Chris loved nothing more than being outdoors surrounded by friends. He especially loved the beach and being anywhere near the water. Since childhood, he found joy fishing off the docks of Riverside Marina. On hot summer days, he could often be found skateboarding around town with the neighborhood crew and stopping for penny candy at Terry's on the Avenue.
Music was always a big part of Chris's life. He enjoyed all genres, but during his teenage years—once he was driving and could crank it up loud—he was especially drawn to '90s Hip Hop and Dancehall Reggae. If you were at the courts at Riverside Park, you'd often hear him before you saw him, rolling up in his beloved 1.8 Corolla Low Rider, speakers blasting Buju Banton, his favorite artist. He even nicknamed himself "Mr. Banton." Chris also had a soft spot for old-school country, especially the music of George Jones, George Strait, and Hank Williams. "Family Tradition" was a favorite, played often in memory of his grandfather George. He loved sharing music with others—if you had a song request, he'd have it on his computer and burn it to a CD, as he did for countless friends over the years.
Chris took great pride in his cars and could spend hours cleaning and detailing them—always finishing with a perfect shine on the tires.
He also loved to travel. Jamaica was a favorite destination, where he fell in love with the island's culture and music. After meeting Sarah, the two were blessed with the opportunity to live in both Hawaii and Florida. There, surrounded by beautiful waters, Chris found his happy place—fishing, exploring, and embracing some of the best years of his life. Chris also discovered a passion for cooking. He enjoyed preparing gourmet meals for Sarah and the kids, from steak and soups to osso buco, to name a few.
Most of all, Chris loved his children, his family, and his many friends.
He is survived by his children, Joseph, Amelia, and Logan; his partner, Sarah Iannucci; his parents, Linda Harker (Kenny Harker) and Russell Mochernuk (Donna Wilmerton). He is also survived by his brother, Mike Mochernuk (Jessica Letton); his niece, Mykayla (Kasey) and his nephew, Augustus. Additionally, he leaves behind his aunts and uncles—Carol Grabert, Lillian Gilbert, Craig Gilbert, Curtis Gilbert, Dorothy Goshey, Rosemary Lynn, Joy Makaryk, and Theresa Siver—along with many cousins, extended family members, and countless friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 PM, all at Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad Street, Riverton, NJ 08077.
