Obituary

Darlington Freeman of Palmyra passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on July 24 th , he was 90.

Originally from Bridgeport, CT, Darlington was the youngest of 10 children born to James and Mary Freeman (Mitchell).  A proud veteran of the US Army he served multiple enlistments during the Vietnam War, receiving several commendations and medals before being honorably discharged.

Loved by just about everyone who knew him, Darlington had a way of drawing people to him.  He was always the life of the party, and had a way of telling stories that would leave even the most stoic in stitches.  He enjoyed watching old westerns and reruns of Designing Women, but his favorite hobby was spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored.

Darlington was preceded in death by his siblings: James Jr., Clarence, Rosa Lee, Dorothy, Mabel, Fredrick, Lois, Margaret, and Morris, and two of his children: Darlington Freman Jr. and Sharon Artis.  He is survived by children: James Freeman and Brandan Arms, daughter-in-law: Shanya Eskridge-Freeman, grandchildren:  Ariana and Zoe (James), Sunniyah, Destiny, Mahaad, and Cairo (Brandan) as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to remember Darlington will be held at an as yet undetermined date.
