Deanna Carol Hixson, 81, of Mesa, AZ, passed away on March 22nd, 2024, after a brief unexpected illness.
Deanna, born to Emma and Joseph Raymond in Union Town, Pennsylvania, was raised in Burlington, NJ. After graduating from Burlington City High School, Deanna joined the United States Air Force in 1965 and pursued her Registered Nurse license from Episcopal Hospital School of Nursing. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Deanna retired from the Air Force Reserve as  a Major  after 20 years of service. She worked the Burlington City Department of Health as a public health nurse.
Deanna was a fiercely dedicated mother to her 3 sons. As a single mother, she raised her sons to work hard and serve their community. Deanna was a strong-minded, Christian woman who loved spoiling her grandchildren, crafting, shopping, and being with her animals. Deanna retired to Mesa, AZ and discovered her passion for quilting. Deanna is survived by her 3 sons, 2 daughter-in-laws and 8 grandchildren. Burial services for Deanna will be held on April 19th, 2024.
