Donald Rogers Taylor (Don), died peacefully on January 7, 2025 in Marlton, NJ, at the age of 97. He was a caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 76 years, Patricia Taylor (nee Nash). He is also survived by sons, Thomas Taylor (Martha) of Winston-Salem, NC; William Taylor (Sandra) of Medford, NJ; and grandchildren, Donald Taylor (Kristin) of Flemington, NJ; Nicole Robinson (Michael) of Bensalem, PA; Carrie King (Adam) of Palmyra, NJ; Colin Taylor (Aubrey) of Horsham, PA; Eric Taylor (Anna) of Gaithersburg, MD; Lauren Taylor (Ryan) of Williamsport, PA; and Christian Taylor (Cassandra) of Long Branch, NJ. Don was the proud great grandfather to Kylie Christian-Taylor, Braiden Robinson, Aiden Taylor, Logan Robinson, Taylor Robinson, Bradley Taylor, Lyla Taylor, and Calliope Taylor.
Don was predeceased by his son, Robert Donald Taylor (Ellen), his daughter, Laura Lee Taylor, and great grandson, Dalton Kane Taylor.
Don was born on June 7, 1927 to Thomas and Edythe Taylor in Riverton, NJ. He graduated from Palmyra High School in 1945, leaving during his senior year to join the United States Navy. After serving his country in World War II, Don was employed by the Bell Telephone company where he worked for over 30 years. In 1948 Don married his high school sweet heart, Patricia Nash of Palmyra, NJ. Don and Pat lived for many years in Riverton, NJ where they raised their family. During retirement they lived in Harvey Cedars, NJ, Barnegat, NJ, Southampton, NJ and finally Marlton, NJ. Don and Pat were avid RV-ers travelling extensively across the country for many years.
Don was a devout Christian having volunteered and served in numerous roles in several different churches over his lifetime. Don enjoyed working with his hands, including wood working, home remodeling, and automotive work. He was an active volunteer in the Boy Scouts for many years. Don is fondly remembered for his dry wit and congenial nature.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by his funeral service at 11:00 AM, all at the Wiley Church, 101 E. Main Street, Marlton, NJ 08053.
