Obituary

Dorothy J. Armstrong (nee Jenkins), age 92, a lifelong resident of Delanco, NJ, passed peacefully on December 4, 2024.

Born in 1932 to the late Violet and Robert Jenkins, Dorothy grew up in Delanco and was a graduate of Palmyra High School. Dorothy married her high school sweetheart, Donald J. Armstrong, and they enjoyed over 67-years of marriage before his passing in 2020. She worked for 30-years for ACME Markets as a cashier at various locations, retiring from the former store in Moorestown.

Dorothy and Don loved to travel and had many great trips all over the world. In their retirement, they spent their winters at their home in Palm Harbor, FL and enjoyed summers at their home in Cape May Courthouse, NJ, in addition to their home in Delanco. Dorothy was a dedicated Phillies Fan, following them closely, watching every game and attending Spring Training games when at her Florida home. Most of all, Dorothy was committed to her family and thrived on spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald J. Armstrong, their son, Bruce Armstrong, and her brother, Robert Jenkins. She is survived by her devoted children, Gregory D. Armstrong (wife, Dawn), David R. Armstrong (wife, Xiaoyu) and Carol A. McGettigan (husband, Joseph), along with her loving grandchildren, Matthew and Christian Cave, Christopher and Michael Armstrong, Emily Flowers, Anna Bowen and Connor McGettigan. Also surviving are her dear great-grandchildren, Dylan, Luke, Henry and Ella Cave, William Armstrong, Evelyn and Elisabeth Flowers, and Silas, Jonah, Elijah, Abraham, and Ezekial Bowen, as well as by her sister, Nancy Grace (husband, Gary).
