Dorothy B. Montemore, age 86, passed peacefully on November 8, 2025.
Dorothy was born in Salem, NJ and lived most of her life in Alloway, NJ. Dot was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked most of her life in healthcare. She was a very devoted, lifelong member of the Salem Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where she served for many years as the children's Sabbath School teacher and worked with the Pathfinder's group, the Salem Beacons. In later years she leader of the adult Sabbath School and a Deaconess.
Dottie was a creative person who was a talented crafter and painter. She was "always on the go", but cherished her time with her family, children and grandchildren.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Viola and Claude (Mike) Carmichael, her husband Hugo (Monte) Montemore, and her son Kevin Lafflin. Dot is survived by her children, Meledy K. Affrunti, Larry Mays (Donna) and Vickie Zane (Ed), as well as by her grandchildren, Chad Affrunti, Holly Zane, Brittany Mays and Donna Holowach. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Ryan and Jillian Affrunti, Alexis and Daniel Mays, Robbie Romanosky and Adelyn and Beckham Holowach.
Graveside services will be held at a future date at the Lawnside Cemetery, 1017 US Route 40, Woodstown, NJ 08098.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the Salem Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 685 Salem Quinton Road, Salem, NJ 08079 would be appreciated.
