Gertrude Verrill of Orange Park, FL, passed away peacefully on June 24th. She was 89.

Gertrude was born and raised in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Harold and Gertrude Heiser. She graduated from Mastbaum H.S. in Northeast Philly and lived in Cinnaminson for many years, then Orlando, Fl, then Mt. Laurel, and finally Orange Park, FL, continuing as a Philadelphia Phillies fan throughout her life.

Gertrude worked for many years as a school bus driver in Orlando, FL and Medford, NJ, but her real passion was Asbury United Methodist Church in Cinnaminson, where she was active in the choir, founder of the Easter Egg Program, was a custodian, helped run the cemetery, and was a devoted member of United Methodist Women.

Gertrude is survived by her sons, Joseph E. Verrill, Kenneth H. (Lorraine) Verrill, and John A. Verrill; her grandchildren, David, Josh, Chris, Anna, Jennifer, and Michael; great-granddaughters, Skylar, Loghan; her brother, the late Harold (Faye) Heiser; and several nieces and nephews.

A viewing for Gertrude will be held on Thursday, July 2nd, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., all at Asbury United Methodist Church, 2492 Andover Rd., Cinnaminson, NJ 08077. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
