Harold R. Bishop of Riverton passed away peacefully on Dec. 17 ^th , at the age of 97.

Harold was born and raised in Riverton and was an active, life-long member of Christ Episcopal Church, also in Riverton.  Harold sang in the church choir for many years, and volunteered many hours in church-related activities.

He served proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII.  He was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edith, siblings William "Bish", Ernest, Earl, Dorothy, Gladys, George, Charles and nephews Earl and Charles "Tootsie ".  Harold is survived by loving nephews and nieces, William "Sam", Mary Vandy, Neilus "Neil", Constance Clineman "Ginger", George, Christina "Chrissy", Delores Wardell "Lori", Charles and Richard. There are also many loving cousins and grand-nephews and grand-nieces.

Heartfelt thanks to the special group of caregivers who devoted their time and skills over the years, treating Harold like a family member.

To those who didn't know Harold, he was a survivor in the many challenges presented to him throughout his life.  To those who knew Harold, he was always a jokester, whose smile and positive attitude will truly be missed.

A Memorial service for Harold will be held on Saturday, June 26 ^th, 2021 at 11:00am at Christ Episcopal Church, 305 Main St, Riverton NJ 08077.  Interment will follow in the Church Memorial Garden with Military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Harold's memory may be made to the Christ Episcopal Church Endowment Fund, 305 S. Main St., Riverton, NJ 08077.
