Lt.(ret) Harry C. McCurdy #2117 NJSP, longtime resident of Delran, passed away peacefully on May 17 ^th , he was 81.

Harry was born in Camden to the late, Benjamin & Florence (nee Beach).  Harry served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps followed by 19yrs in the NJ Army National Guard retiring as a CWO4.  He spent 20 years as a NJ State Trooper then went on to work as Deputy Attorney General for 15yrs where he helped write the "Lemon Law" and "Megan's Law."

Harry was past president of Burlington County Council of the Boy Scouts of America, past president of Former Trooper Association, past president of Warrant Officers Association Doughboy Chapter, member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, member of the 200 Club of Burlington County, Mt. Moriah Lodge #28, F&AM, Covenant Lodge # 161, F&AM and Knights of Columbus #1436 in Delran.  He volunteered as a scribe, collecting oral histories from WWII veterans and submitting them to the Library of Congress.

Harry enjoyed fishing, travelling, including family vacations in Maine every summer, traveling to the UK and Europe with Cookie, history, cars, car racing and reading.

Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Alfreda "Cookie" (nee Ciechanowicz), daughter, Colleen and sister, Patricia Gray.  He is survived by his children, Michele (Paul) Higginbotham, Michael P., grandchildren, Alexander S. Higginbotham and Maureen M.

A viewing for Harry will be held on Wednesday, May 25 ^th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and Thursday, May 26 ^th from 9:30am to 10:30am, both at Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad St., Riverton, NJ 08077.  Mass of Christian burial will follow on Thursday at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church, 4 ^th & Linden Ave., Riverton, NJ.  Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Riverside, NJ.
