Harry C. Perkins (10-22-1924 to 6-9-2018) was born, raised and lived in the tri-county area his entire life. He served in the US Army from 1943-46 as a radio operator and upon his discharge attended Peirce Business School. In 1948 he married Peggy Haines and began working at Haines Buick, selling cars for 39 years. He continued on at Haines Farm & Garden working in the office for the next 25 years, reluctantly retiring 3 years ago.
Harry loved life and people and always had a kind word or a joke to tell. Harry and Peg had a large circle of friends and spent many happy summers at their cottage in Stone Harbor with their friends, children and their spouses and their 11 grandchildren. Over the years he enjoyed woodworking, boating and fishing, singing to the oldies (On the Way to Cape May…), traveling to see family and his sons in CA and New Zealand and taking cruises. He and Peg also loved their German Shepherds.
Harry is predeceased by Margaret (2000), his son Douglas (2016) and his sisters Ella May Moore and Mildred Sauerwein. He is survived by his daughter, Wendie and his sons, Jeffrey and Todd and their families as well as his brother-in-law, Collins H. Haines.
