Obituary

Jeffrey Alyn Kerr, age 68, of Cinnaminson, NJ and formerly of Aquebogue, NY, passed suddenly on September 4, 2021

Jeffrey was born in Rockville Center, NY, grew up in Asharoken, NY and was a longtime resident of Aquebogue on Long Island. He was a graduate of Northport High School, where he met high school sweetheart and first wife Catherine. Together Jeff and Cathy they had 2 children (April & Dawn) and enjoyed many weekend boat trips with family and friends in Lloyds Harbor. In 1987 shortly after the family moved to the east end of Long Island he lost his wife Cathy. Jeffrey was a single Dad for many years before finding love again. He married his second wife Joanne in 1999. They were married for 15 years before her death. He loved to be on the water and was an avid boater and fisherman. Jeff's love of boating lead him to a career as a Marine Mechanic where he was a longtime employee at the Mattituck Inlet Marina in Mattituck, NY. Jeff was best known by his friends and family for his sense of humor and respect of hard work and dedication. Following his retirement he moved to Cinnaminson, NJ to be nearer to his daughter and granddaughters.

Jeff was predeceased by his first wife, Catherine, and by his second wife, Joanne. He was also predeceased by his sister, Noel Kerr. Jeff is survived by his daughters, April (Benjamin) Valenteijn of Ottersheim, Germany and Dawn (Carl) Willers of Cinnaminson, NJ and his step-daughter Juliana (Tara) Henderson of Youngsville, NC. He is the beloved grandfather of Janek, Michael, Thomas and Katelyn Valenteijn and Grace, Madison and Sophia Willers and Alex Henderson. Also surviving him are his siblings, Bonnie Cassidy, Dennis Kerr, Alison Meise, Charly Kerr, Michael Kerr and Daniel Kerr as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family.

Funeral services for Jeffrey Kerr will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Caroline Church, 1 Dyke Rd Setauket NY 11733 at 11:00am immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at All Souls Rectory, 5 Mill Pond Road, Stony Brook, NY 11790.
