John "Jack" Aloysius Wallace of Cinnaminson, NJ passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018. He was 94.
He was born on November 9, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Leo C. Wallace and Anna M Wallace (nee Doyle). In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine "Gerry", and son Thomas, and brothers Joseph, William, Charles, and Paul.
Jack was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a graduate of Palmyra High School, where he played football, and of the University of Maryland, where he was on the boxing team. He served in the US Navy during World War II as a Motor Machinist's Mate, Third Class. Jack served stateside, Asia and the South Pacific during the war. After the war he attended the University of Maryland and graduated with an education degree. He worked as a teacher in the Mt. Laurel School district before starting his own asphalt business, General Construction Company. After many years in the asphalt business, he gained employment with Burlington County Bridge Commission where he eventually retired.
He was an avid football fan and enjoyed watching the "Fighting Irish" of Notre Dame on Saturdays. Sundays in the fall were for watching pro football, his favorite team being the New England Patriots and his favorite player, Tom Brady.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his seven children, Michael Wallace (Kathy), Joan Devita (Lawrence), Patrick Wallace (Virginia), John Wallace (Edwina), James Wallace (Laura), Terry Skole (Gary) and Christine Wallace; twelve grandchildren and brothers, Lawrence Wallace (Nancy) and Leo Wallace.
The family requests the honor of your presence at on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church, 4th Street and Linden Avenue, Riverton, NJ for his Viewing from 9:30 AM to 11:00AM and his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ
