John H. Gilbert, Jr. of Riverside passed away peacefully on March 24 th , at the age of 81.
He was a good ole boy raised in Bridgeboro, NJ, born to the late John Sr. and Mary (nee Faunce.) He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping, and a car enthusiast that loved tinkering with his Corvette and Jeep. He was truly a man of many talents who could fix "anything!" John worked 41 years as a tester for RCA/GE/Lockheed Martin in Moorestown; additionally serving 30 of those years as a devoted shop steward for IUE Local 106 for occupation 102. Most importantly, John cherished the time he spent with his wife, family, friends, and dog Zoey.
John leaves behind the love of his life of 61 years, Tilara "Tillie" (nee Gennett) and daughters; Debra (William) Baker, Kimberly (Terence) Bogie, Diane (Adam) Steinberg, and Denise (James) Perdunn, He is the proud grandfather of Christina Baker, Ryan Bogie, Tyler Bogie, Jake Steinberg, Sierra Steinberg, John Gilbert III (Erin), Brianna Cloud, Jamie (Myranda) Rodriquez, James Perdunn III, Jaelynn Pomroy, Jessica Perdunn, and Great Grandfather to Troy and R.J. He is also survived by his brother James Gilbert (Liona) and many nieces and nephews.
John is preceded in death by his beautiful baby daughter, Denise Ann, loving sister Dorothy (James) Stillwell and Step-mother Eleanor Gilbert.
A viewing will be held for John on Friday, April 1 st from 7:00pm to 9:00pm and on Saturday April 2 nd from 10:00am to 11:00am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00am, all at Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad St., Riverton, NJ 08077. Interment will follow at Monument Cemetery, Beverly, NJ.
