John R. Gross, "Jack", of Palmyra passed away peacefully at home on August 8th, 2024, he was 86.
Jack was born to the late John & Marjorie Gross, grew up in the Cobbs Creek section of Philadelphia and has resided in Palmyra for the past 52 years. He served proudly in the U.S. Air Force from 1958-1962.
Jack enjoyed a career at PECO, starting as a lineman and retiring as a supervisor. Jack loved boats and being on the water. He kept his boat at the Dredge Harbor Marina and was a dockmaster at Clarks Landing/Castle Harbor Marina. Jack also had a sweet tooth and a large H.O. model train set up at his home, that he loved dearly.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (nee Pokorny) in 2014, his daughter, Karen Grate and brother, Richard Gross. He is survived by his children, John, Jeffrey, Tim (Danielle), David (Jessica), grandchildren, Timothy, Jason Grate, Alli, Alex, David, Jackson, brother Thomas, sister Marjorie, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
A viewing for Jack will be held on Monday, Aug. 19th, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, all at the Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad Street, Riverton, NJ 08077. Interment will follow at B.G. William C Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
