John Michael Johnson, age 72, of Woodbury Heights, NJ, formerly of Myrtle Beach, SC and Palmyra, NJ, passed unexpectedly at his home on February 24, 2024.

Born in Philadelphia, John moved to Palmyra at an early age and was a graduate of Palmyra High School, Class of 1970. He remained a resident of Palmyra for most of his life until relocating to Myrtle Beach, SC for several years then returning to his current home in Woodbury Heights, NJ.

John began his career working for the United States Postal Service then went to work for many years for the State of New Jersey, Treasury Department, retiring as a department manager in 2012. He was an avid bowler participating in several leagues and was a member of the Amateur Bowlers Association, winning multiple tournaments over the years. John was also an avid collector with a particular interest in coin collecting, baseball and sports cards, and comic books.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 47+ years, Carol Ann Johnson (nee' Dusenbury), his loving children, Christina Marie Johnson and John M. Johnson, Jr. He is also survived by his dear sister, Barbara T. Kelly, and his niece, Suzanne Zanetich, along with his cousins and their families. John was predeceased by his father, John E. Johnson, his mother, Eleanor M. Russell (nee' Udinsky) and his stepfather, Ralph L. Russell.
