Obituary

Kathleen M. Farren, age 78, of Delran, NJ, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on June 16, 2026.

Kathy was born in 1948 to Barbara (nee' Knapp) and Joseph Westermann, one of nine children including her twin sister, Rosemarie. She grew up in Willow Grove, PA, graduating from Bishop McDevitt High School in the Class of 1966. Kathy went on to continue her education at Gwynned Mercy University where she earned her bachelor's degree.

Kathy married Wayne A. Farren in 1973 and they settled in Warminster, PA for several years before moving to Delran, NJ in 1978 to raise their family. Once settled in Delran, she began working for the Moorestown High School where she served as the Secretary to the Principal for 26 years until her retirement in 2010. She served several Principals throughout her tenure and was known for her attention to detail and dedication to the school, fellow staff and the students.

Kathy was a longtime active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Moorestown and was devout in her faith. She and Wayne were also longtime members of Riverton Country Club where she was a fixture at the pool each summer. In her retirement, Kathleen spent much of her time volunteering at the Camden Soup Kitchen, Riverview Estates Nursing Home and at the Delran Adult Day Program. Additionally, Kathy enjoyed walking every day, gardening and taking care of her home and family.

Kathy was predeceased by her loving son, Christopher W. Farren, in 2021, and is survived by her beloved husband of 53-years, Wayne A. Farren, and their loving daughter, Heather Briggs and her husband Dan Briggs. Also surviving are her dear grandchildren, Marlana Sheerin and husband Chris, Erica Farren, Emily Briggs, Joseph Briggs and Sophia Farren, along with her great-grandchildren, Owen and Olivia Sheerin. She is also survived by her siblings Francis Westermann, Barbara Jeffrey, Donald Westermann and wife Karen, and Edward Westermann and wife Dawn, as well as her sister-in-law, Linda Morrell and husband Michael, and brother-in-law, Brian Casey. Kathy is also survived by her many loving nieces, nephews, their extended families and many dear friends.

In addition to her son, Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Barbara and Joseph Westermann, her siblings, Rita Webster, Joseph Westermann, Martin Westermann and Sr. Rosemarie Westermann, as well as her in-laws, Robert Farren and Florence Casey.

All are invited to attend a Visitation on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:15 AM, followed by her Funeral Service at 11:30 AM, all held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 207 West Main Street, Moorestown, NJ 08057.
