Leo Edward Bankowski Sr of Palmyra, NJ formerly of Burlinton City Born August 28th, 1948 passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 13th, 2022.

"Big Leo" as many called him due to his height of six foot, seven inches is survived by his three children, Denise, of New Hampshire, Leo Jr (Teree), of New Jersey, and Dayna, of Massachusetts.

Also survived by his Grandchildren David, Krystina, Helena, Hailey, Mark, Devin, Logan, Vincent, Kerilyn, Craig Jr. And 13 great grandchildren.

Leo was a Volunteer Firefighter most of his life with Burlington City and Burlington Township, was an avid Fisherman and Harley Davidson enthusiast who was a Charter member of The Red Knights Firefighter motorcycle club, NJ Chapter 33 and The Harley riders Group formerly known as The Burlington H.O.Gs riding club sponsored by a former Harley dealership in Burlington as well as a small private group called "The black sheep" made up of a small group of friends he held close to his heart.

Leo was also a member of The Polish American Citizens Club of Delran, NJ as well as the Moose Lodge of Mt. Holly and previously a member of most social and Varteran centric clubs in the Buington city area.

He drove trucks of all kinds throughout his career for varied companies and drove for the transportation division of a company that cared for handicapped individuals for most of his retired life.

Mr. Bankowski was well known for his exceptional athletic abilities during his school years and into his 40s as an adult, even playing Semi-Profesional football in his early adult years.

A memorial service will be held at a date yet to be determined,  the family will try to insure his many friends are informed of the date and venue when they are determined.

The family requests that donations be made to the Palmyra Fire Dept. Station 801 in his name in lieu of flowers and or other bereavement gifts to the family before and during his yet to be determined memorial service.
