Obituary

Louise Rodano passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of December 11th, after a sudden health crisis. She was 82.

Born in Camden, Louise Matera was raised in Riverside, NJ, with her two older brothers, Joe and Mike, and her younger sister, Elaine.
Louise had great school spirit (Go Rams!), looked like a young Natalie Wood, and went by the nickname "Lideo."

After high school, Louise first worked at the Pennsylvania Railroad. Later, she began working at Penn Mutual Insurance Company. It was there she set her eyes on a handsome guy with "high cheek bones" -she'd say, "I thought he was Native American!" Soon, they fell in love, and she and Frank Rodano were married.

Louise and Frank eventually moved from Philadelphia and settled in Delran, NJ. Their family grew when they welcomed their son, John, and seven years later, their daughter, Kim. Louise was a devoted, loving, wonderful mom. The best.

For many years, Louise was a fixture at Clover in Cinnaminson. She brightened the jewelry counter with her friendliness, helpfulness, and expertise. She eventually shared her knowledge, working in the jewelry department at Boscov's. She was always hardworking and dependable.

Upon retirement, Louise cared for and nurtured her many "kids" as their beloved nanny. She became "family" to many.

Louise was a wonderful friend and enjoyed traveling, outings, and lunches with her sister, friends, and "Joy's Gems". She enjoyed playing cards and having fun. She was a devoted daughter to her parents and devoted niece to her Aunt Ethel.

Life's hardships never made Louise hardened or brittle. She delighted with great joy and cheered her family and friends in their triumphs. Louise was also a compassionate heart and empathetic listener who gave comfort to others during life's trials and losses.

Everyone who knew Louise loved and respected her. She loved unconditionally and made everyone feel their best, especially her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was loved beyond measure.

Louise will be remembered for her beautiful, loving spirit, her loyalty, integrity, and her sense of humor and fun (the best thing ever was to make Louise laugh ——"Get out!")

Louise will be missed by her loving children, her family, her dog Chichi, and everyone who had the good fortune of knowing her.

Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Louise's memory may be made to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Marlton, NJ, 08053.
