Louise Frances Simon (née Nyman) of Beverly, NJ passed away peacefully on October 22, 2018 at 88 years.
Born and raised at K&A in Philadelphia, Louise had lived in Beverly for the past 53 years. She served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1960 as a communications officer, stationed in New Orleans, at The Pentagon, and in Morocco. After the navy, she worked at the Red Cross, then got her Masters in Library Science, at night, while raising a child and working full time as a law librarian at Ballard Spahr in Philadelphia. She became a high school librarian, working at Sterling High School, and then Lenape High School in Medford. After retiring from Lenape, she worked part time for 25 years at the Burlington County Library.
Louise was a reader, a lifelong traveler, and an explorer of ideas. That voracious curiosity and sharp mind will be missed by family, many friends, and colleagues.
"If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need." - Cicero. Louise would have added a cat.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Kathryn A. Simon of Riverton, NJ.
