Obituary

Marie Emma Peck (nee Tieman), age 91, of Hainesport, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at Virtua Mount Holly Hospital on November 17, 2023.

Marie was born on March 1, 1932, to the late Mary and Harold Tieman in Riverside, NJ.  She grew up in Delanco, NJ, where her father owned the Tieman Garage and spent most of her life living in Southampton, NJ, and Hainesport, NJ.  She worked throughout her life at the J. Chein Toy Company, Cinnaminson Diner, and Medford Leas Retirement Home.

A sharp-witted spitfire who was ornery at times, Marie was a fierce cardplayer, an avid baker, and a master of homecooked meals.  She had a repertoire of stories that she loved to share and was always good for a laugh.  Marie enjoyed doing the jitterbug and often reminisced about going to the firehouse dances.  A lover of animals, she enjoyed the company of many dogs and cats throughout her life.  Marie was also always aware of current events and insisted that something must be true if she saw it on the TV or in the tabloids – she was mostly right.

Above all, Marie had a heart of gold and showered those around her with boundless love.  She was welcoming and never left anyone behind. Marie showed strength, compassion, and resilience as she watched over those she loved.

Marie is survived by her two loving daughters, Sharon Kraemer (Robert) and Linda Alburger (RJ), as well as her treasured grandchildren, Michelle Butvilas (Joe), Kelly Alburger (Dan), Robert Kraemer Jr. (Carl), and Ashley Bigwood (Matt).  Marie was blessed to have many great-grandchildren, including Aiden, Vincent, Seamus, Keira, Fallyn, Kayleigh, Skylar, Matt Jr., and most recently born and Marie's final joy in this world, Thomas.  Marie is also survived by her adored siblings, Dorothy Tieman, Gary Tieman (Martha), Barbara Kowaleski, James Tieman (Alison), and sister-in-law, Arlene Tieman.  Marie was lucky to have many nieces, nephews, and others who loved her, including her cherished long-time friends, June and Bobbie Breder, as well as her neighbors on Tarten Lane.

Marie was predeceased by her beloved son Joel Alburger Jr., a rotation of three husbands that her grandchildren joked earned her the initials METCAP (Marie Emma Tieman Cuzzupe Alburger Peck), siblings Harold Tieman, John Tieman, Edward Tieman, William Tieman, and Joan Dougherty, as well as her partner-in-crime, Joanie-Joan Tieman.

In lieu of flowers, please remember Marie by helping to spread love and kindness throughout the world.  She was a one-of-a-kind dame who will be sorely missed.  May her legacy continue to inspire and bless us.

Remembrances may be shared with her family at www.weberfuneralhomeinc.com . Arrangements by the Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad Street, Riverton, NJ 08077.
