Obituary

Mary Jo Bove of Moorestown passed away on Aug 21 st , she was 73.

Mary Jo was born in Red Bank, NJ to the late John and Mary "Molly" Durnien.  As a teenager, Mary Jo served on the Keansburg City Council, sparking a debate that would lead to the 26th Amendment. She was previously a very active parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Monmouth. Mary Jo was a true Jersey girl; she loved fresh corn on the cob, tomato sandwiches, pork roll, walking the boards, and Bruce. She enjoyed travelling, particularly to Maine, genealogy, writing poetry but most especially, she enjoyed her family to whom she was fiercely loyal.

Mary Jo is survived by her sons, Edward (Janet) Bove, Matthew (Jennifer) Bove, grandchildren, Madison, Shawn, Aidan, Meghan, siblings, Margaret (Herb) McNew, Catherine Donner, Kevin (Margaret) Durnien, many nieces and nephews and good friends. She is predeceased by the late John Durnien, the late Daniel Durnien, and her long time companion James "Skip" Ballard.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 1st at the Weber Funeral Home from 9AM-10:30AM, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Sacred Heart Church at 11AM.
