Mary Jane, 90, left her room in Willow Brooke Court at The Evergreens, Moorestown, New Jersey, and walked through the Pearly Gates and into Heaven, leaving her wheelchair behind.
Mary Jane was born in Collingswood, New Jersey, on October 11, 1930. She grew up in Collingswood and graduated from Collingswood High School in 1948. She married Jim Pentz in 1952, and they lived in Voorhees, New Jersey for 31 years. During those years, as a member of Ashland Evangelical Presbyterian Church, she served as Christian Endeavor Leader, Sunday School Teacher, and founder and printer of the Sunday School Newsletter (The Sunday School Scroll).
She retired from New Jersey Bell Telephone in 1986 and moved to Florida. Here she was a member of the St. Lucie County AARP, Spanish Lakes Country Club Village Homeowners Association, Telephone Pioneers, and the Community Church of Vero Beach. Mary Jane and Jim traveled frequently during their 25 years living in Florida, preferring boat trips on American Rivers.
In 2010, Mary Jane and Jim moved to Lansdale, PA to be closer to family due to Jim's battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Mary Jane moved to Moorestown, NJ in 2018, once again to be closer to family.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Pentz. She is survived by two daughters and their families, Rosanne (John) Martin of Riverton, NJ and Susanne (Carl) Snyder of Winslow Township, NJ; six grandchildren, Kyle (Jaime) Snyder, Laura (Mike) Monte, both of Winslow Township, NJ; John (Nehemias) de Leon Martin, Los Angeles, CA, Julie (Sean Denson) Martin, Paige Martin and Sarah Martin, Riverton, NJ; four great grandchildren, Abby Rose and Alexis Snyder and Hunter and Harper Monte.
Mary Jane's cremated remains will be placed in the Memorial Garden at Community Church, Vero Beach, Florida, at a later date.
