Born in 1943 to Dorothy Jane (nee' Glasser) and Alfonso C. DiBenedetto, Marylynne grew up in Somers Point and Medford Lakes, NJ. She was a proud member of the first graduating class of Holy Cross High School, Delran, in 1961 and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in English from Caldwell College. Marylynne spent her career as an educator, teaching at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Elementary School in Haddon Heights, NJ of the Diocese of Camden for many years until her retirement.
Meem was devoted to her husband, their children, and especially her grandchildren whom she often showered with cookies, stickers, countless personalized gifts, and greeting cards bursting with confetti. She took great pride in her home in Cherry Hill and enjoyed hosting holidays and special occasions with her family there to celebrate. Meem also loved shopping, gift-giving, and road trip adventures throughout the Northeast, especially to destinations like Annapolis, MD and Boothbay Harbor, ME where shop owners delighted in her annual visits.
Marylynne is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Rocco J. Bruno "Rocky", her devoted children, Jana L. Tidwell and her husband Eric Tidwell, and Joseph R. Bruno, as well as her loving grandchildren, Jalyn Tidwell, Kayla Tidwell, and Joey Bruno. Also surviving are her siblings, Donna Couturie, Michael DiBenedetto, and Florence DiBenedetto, along with several nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
Marylynne was predeceased by her parents, Jane and Al DiBenedetto, and her twin brother, Alfonso DiBenedetto, Jr.
Meem was a strong supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. To help St. Jude's mission of lifesaving care, contributions in Marylynne's memory can be made at www.stjude.org/donatetoday or via mail to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
