Mia (Anna) Mobertz, née Beckers, age 86, passed away the evening of Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in the comfort of her home. Her bright smile and unfailing optimism, strength, and good spirits will always be remembered.

Mia was born in Wittem, Netherlands, to Joseph and Maria Beckers and spent much of her childhood causing mayhem with her nine siblings. She married Hubert Mobertz in 1954 and started a family. Soon after, Mia, Bert, and their two children embarked on the journey of a lifetime, joining Mia's sister, Terry, in the United States. There, Mia began teaching herself English through crossword puzzles and Jeopardy (though she never completely managed to lose her endearing, trademark Dutch accent). Mia and Bert eventually settled in Riverton, NJ, Mia's home for the rest of her life.

An avid traveler, Mia most enjoyed excursions with those dear to her. She traveled north to Niagara Falls and south to the Carolinas. She counted bridges in Pittsburgh, explored Southern California, gambled in Las Vegas – and even ventured to Tijuana. As if that weren't enough, Mia also made over 20 trips to visit family in the Netherlands.

Mia was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Left to celebrate Mia's life are her children Jane and Leon Mobertz, her grandchildren Joshua and Lauren Mobertz, her great-granddaughter, Carson Mobertz, many nieces and nephews, and the countless neighbors, friends, and loved ones who knew her simply as "Oma."

The family will greet friends and family from 9:00 to 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad Street (River Road), Riverton, NJ 08077. A funeral Mass will be held immediately afterward Sacred Heart Church, 103 4th St., Riverton, beginning at 11:00 AM.

The Mobertz family would like to thank Samaritan Hospice for making Mia's final days as comfortable as possible.
