Norbert D. Rix, of Palmyra, NJ, passed away peacefully on June 8th, 2026. He was 79.

Norbert was born in Philadelphia to the late Norman and Catherine (nee Hartley).  He grew up in Philadelphia, attending St. Tim's Parish and graduating from Lincoln High School. After serving proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps, Norbert went on to enjoy a 35+ year career with the Laborers Union, Local 57, where he worked in concrete.  He enjoyed shooting pool and was a Friend of Bill for 49 ½ years.

Norbert was called many names; Sweet Norman, Sweetness, Nobby and best of all POPPY. He loved taking care of his grandchildren Jack, Todd, Nathan and Emma.  He helped at Central Baptist Church with pre-k school back in 2008. Poppy was a great cheerleader for all his grandchildren's soccer games. He was devoted to his wife Kathleen and family.

Norbert is survived by his wife, Kathleen (nee Brooks), step-children, Les (Meredith) Salmon and Brian (Heather) Salmon, grandchildren, Jack Salmon, Todd Salmon, Nathan Salmon, Emma Salmon, siblings, Joseph (Roseanne Wallen) Rix, Catherine (Dirk) Rix-Payne, Peter (Michelle) Rix, the late Michael Rix, sister-in-law, Patricia Rix, several nieces, great nieces, great nephews, Godsons, David Gardner, Eddie Bertino, Jr and mother-in-law, Margaret Brooks.

At the request of his wishes, interment is private.
