Paul R. Ward, age 88, a lifelong Delanco resident, passed away on February 8, 2023 after a short, but valiant bout with cancer.   Paul had many friends and interests throughout his well lived life.   He was a Master Gardner who also enjoyed fishing, watching birds, and feeding stray cats.  Paul also loved antiquing and there was never a yard sale he came upon without stopping; he took great pride in negotiating a great deal at flea markets.  One of his many professions was as a boat salesman in a business he shared with his sister Joyce on their mother and father's marina – Dan's Boat Yard in Delanco.  Additionally, Paul was a 34 year employee of the Burlington County Bridge Commission, rising to the most senior member of the toll department.  He worked at both the Delanco Bridge in the summers and year-round at the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge, where one of the many perks was when he would bring home Philly soft pretzels in a paper bag given to him by delivery drivers crossing the bridge.

Paul is survived by his children Pat, Cindy, Sandy, Johnny and Lisa, his sister Diane and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He is predeceased by his son Paul and grandson Paulie, along with his parents Clarence Ward and Stella Thomas, step-father Dan Thomas and siblings Clarence Ward and Joyce Ward.

Graveside Services for Paul will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at St. Peter's Cemetery, Bridgeboro Road, Riverside, NJ 08075.
