Paula A. Silvester, age 81, of Riverside, NJ, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed peacefully at her home on December 11, 2024.

Paula was born in 1943 to Anna and Matthew Szymanski and grew up in Philadelphia. She remained a lifelong resident of Philadelphia until moving to Riverside, NJ twenty years ago. Paula was happiest taking care of her family and making a loving home for them to gather together. She adored her grandchildren.

Paula enjoyed gardening, tending to her plants and her favorite frog figurines that she would place throughout her home and garden. She was an animal lover, especially of dogs, which she had many over the years, and loved her trips to the casinos and was a huge fan of Elvis Presley.

Paula is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Pasquale "Pat" Silvester, their children, Pasquale "Pat" Silvester and his wife Eileen, and Jacqueline "Jackie" Gizzi, son-in-law Anthony Gizzi, as well as by her beloved grandchildren, Anthony Silvester (Kristine Danielle), Justin Silvester (Corlet), Gena Gizzi (Marcus Veltri) and Gabrielle Gizzi. Paula is also survived by her sisters, Suzee Bain and Marie Rysak, her brother-in-law, Charles Silvester and his wife Edythe, her many nieces, nephews and their families, along with her many lifelong and close friends.

Paula was predeceased by her mother and stepfather, Anna Schlupp and Charles Schlupp, her father, Matthew Szymanski, and her sister, Patsy DeNofa.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Resurrection Parish, St. Casimir Church, 502 New Jersey Avenue, Riverside, NJ 08075 at a future date, which will be posted here when available.
