Obituary

Penelope Webb, age 74, of Cinnaminson, NJ passed peacefully after an extended illness.

Penny was born in Brooklawn, NJ and spent her early childhood there before her family moved to Willingboro, NJ. She remained in Willingboro and started her teaching career in the lower elementary grades with the Willingboro School District in 1970. Penny also taught Special Education students then went on to obtain her Master's Degree and moved into Administration for the School District, serving many years as the Administrator for Central Special Education until her retirement in 2003 after thirty-three years with Willingboro. Following her retirement Penny worked with the College of New Jersey where she guided future teachers as a Supervisor in the Student Teaching Program. In her free time, Penny was an avid knitter and enjoyed cross-stitch and hand needle work, making many items for her family and friends.

Predeceased by her parents, Amy and William Webb, Penny is survived by her beloved daughter, Hannah M. Webb, and by her lifetime friend, Nancy C. Knapp, and her son, Christopher Knapp. Also surviving are her brother, Roy Webb and his wife Cynthia; nieces, Rebecca Liverman and Rachel Briggs; and her extended family, Elmer and Barbara Knapp, and Christine Regedanz.

A special message from Nancy Knapp: A Precious Treasure, Our friendship started to blossom our sophomore year at college. We got career jobs in education at Penny's hometown. This developed into a family networking of Webbs and Knapps. We each grew up to hear and learn about salvation, forgiveness of our sins, and eternal life with Jesus in Heaven. This continued to be a lifelong blooming friendship through the good, difficult, and hard times that faced us. Just four months before Penny's last parent passed away, her father, he had the enjoyment of holding Penny's adopted infant daughter, Hannah, and my adopted infant son, Christopher. Penny's dad was content in realizing we would not be alone, but be our own family now. Fifty three years have come and gone and as Penny's mom would say, a lot of water over the dam has happened. I realize and value more and more what one teacher had said to Penny so many years ago. This teacher was happily married with a growing family. She watched Penny and I and so wished she could find such a rare find, treasure, as our true, loyal, and honest friendship. This precious treasure has been Penny and me with Jesus as our guide and pilot. Thank you.

In keeping with Penny's wishes, her funeral service and burial will be held privately. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, contributions in her memory to the Children's Ministry at Immanuel Baptist Church, 6 South Poplar Avenue, Maple Shade, NJ 08052 would be welcomed. Remembrances may be shared with her family at www.weberfuneralhomeinc.com
