Obituary

Philip Anderson, died peacefully on February 17, 2019. He was 88.

A graduate of Palmyra High School, he owned and operated the former Rainbow Meadow Farm, now Laurel Run Park in Delran. Besides his signature peaches, he grew corn, tomatoes, pumpkins, and other crops, as did his father before him.

He cared deeply for the land and its people, serving two years on the Delran Board of Education; nine years on the Planning Board; and two years on the Township Council. He was a past Director of the Bank of West Jersey; Vice President of the Burlington County Board of Agriculture; Director of Jersey Fruit; Vice President of Newton Holding Co. (NY); and member of the NJ Farm Bureau.

But most importantly, he was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. His wife of 66 years, Alice, survives him; as do his children Raymond (Cheryl), Leigh (Jack Kelley), and Bryan (Faith); grandsons Justin Sherin (Miranda) and Bryan Anderson, Jr.; cousins Wesley Anderson (Carol) and Doris Heminger; and many nieces and nephews.

Phil loved boats, cars, animals, and a good Manhattan. He was quick with a joke and a story, but quiet about the lengths he went to help others. In his honor we ask that you enjoy life, respect the environment, and look after each other.
