Obituary

Phyllis Rose Jung (Meemom) age 92, of Palmyra, NJ passed away peacefully on May 19, 2021.

She is the loving mother of Tom Jung (Trish) of Cinnaminson, NJ and Lisa Ciarrochi (Paul) of Maple Shade, NJ.  Her pride and joy are her grandchildren:  Melissa Scott DePerto (Rich) Danielle Socha (Ron) Jenny Seidenberg (Mike) and Michael Jung (Angela). She is also blessed with great-grandchildren: Nicky, Lexi, Roger, Michael, Brayden, Camille and Eva.

She is survived by her sister, Rosemarie Guarnieri of Beverly, NJ; brothers Sonny DiLeo of Riverton, NJ; Joseph DiLeo (Joan) of Cinnaminson, NJ and Russell DiLeo (Peggy) of Palmyra, NJ, along with many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, Joachim Jung; her mother, Rose DiLeo; father, Francesco DiLeo; brother Frank DiLeo and sisters Jeanette Iannuzzi and Dolly Domski.

Phyllis grew up in South Philly and is one of eight children.   They moved to Palmyra, New Jersey where she enjoyed a simple life.  In her early years she worked at Macmillan Publishers in Riverside, NJ.   After raising her family, she worked for JCI in Cinnaminson, NJ.  She was the most content enjoying her home and family, spending time in the yard planting flowers and vegetables, feeding the birds and relaxing on her deck with Poppop's homemade iced tea.

Phyllis loved to entertain and instilled in us the importance of family tradition with her Easter brunches, Christmas Eve gatherings after church and birthday celebrations.   She could always be seen in the same pew at Sacred Heart Church on Sundays where she received such strength and comfort.  She was rarely seen without a camera and was often chasing you around to take your picture.  She loved making personalized photo albums and sharing them with the family as gifts.

She will be remembered for her love and devotion to family, strong faith, beautiful gardens, love of music and dancing.   Her delicious apple cake was always a hit at a party.  She enjoyed summer trips to Long Beach Island.  Due to her frugal nature, she loved finding a good bargain at a yard sale.  She will be sadly missed, but memories of the good times will live in our hearts forever.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad Street, Riverton, NJ 08077.  Mass will follow at 11:00 at Sacred Heart Church, 4 th St. & Linden Avenue, Riverton.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery, Cinnaminson, NJ.
