Raymond P. Schill, longtime resident of Palmyra passed away peacefully on Nov. 23 ^rd .  He was 97.

A member of the "Greatest Generation," Raymond was born to the late George and Martha (nee Clark) Schill in Woodbury, NJ. Raymond graduated from Palmyra HS and served proudly in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre during WWII.  Following the war, Raymond enjoyed a 46 year career with the Pennsylvania Railroad (later Conrail) in Philadelphia.

Raymond was a long time member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Palmyra; a 74 year member and past commander of American Legion Post 156; a member and chaplain of Covenant Lodge #161 F&AM where he received the Distinguished Brother Award and his 50 year pin; and a 32 ^nd Degree Mason in Consistory, receiving the Meritorious Service Award.

Raymond was active in Palmyra Band Boosters for 12 years and an avid supporter of the Pennsauken and Lenape Bands. He enjoyed reading, (as many as 5 books a week up until his passing), travelling in his RV, but most especially, he enjoyed his family.

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Roseanna (nee Hoffman.) and by his brother George, and sister Gene.    He is survived by children, William (Rosa) Schill, Deborah (Clifford) Mason, Lynda (James) Weston, Kurt (Beth) Schill, grandchildren, Laura, Carolyn (Morgan), Ashlee (David), Allison, Thomas, Kimberly (Larry), Brenda (Ted), Eric (Amanda), Victoria (Mike), Matthew (Michelle), Kursten, Tyler, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.

A viewing for Raymond will be held on Tuesday, Nov 29 ^th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on Wednesday, Nov 30 ^th from 10:00am to 11:00am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00am, all at Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad St., Riverton, NJ 08077.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.
