Richard T. Martin, age 75, of Palmyra, NJ passed peacefully on November 10, 2024.
Rich was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1949 to Mary and Harry Martin. He grew up in Palmyra and remained a lifelong resident.
Rich found a passion for photography and made it his life's work. His talent with a camera led him to become a Master Photographer. Rich was the owner of Xanadu Photography and used his skills for a variety of services including photography for weddings, professional modelling, advertisements, portraits and family photos to earn his living. Outside of his professional work, Rich specialized in scenic and nature photography, travelling all over the country to follow his passion.
Rich was a longstanding active member of the Guild of Professional Photographers of the Delaware Valley and served as President and in other capacities for many years. He was also an active teacher of photography and mentored many photographers throughout their careers. Rich's photography earned him multiple industry awards and he was voted Photographer of the Year by his peers a record 25 times throughout his career.
Following his retirement from professional photography, Rich found enjoyment working for the Cinnaminson Township Schools as a bus driver and as a bus aide. He enjoyed his daily interactions with all of the kids. Rich also remained closely connected with his large group of friends made over the years through his photography.
Predeceased by his parents, Mary (nee' Fernandez) and Harry Martin, his sister, Donna M. Nichols, brother, Ronald J. Martin, and nephew, Jeff Nichols, Richard is survived by his loving brother, Thomas C. Martin and his wife Rhonda, and his nieces and nephews, Lisa Facciolo, Renee Nichols, Tara Lange, Lukas Martin, Brett Martin and Tyler Martin. He is also survived by his many great-nieces and great-nephews along with many close friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Sunday, November 17, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 PM all at the Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad Street, Riverton, NJ 08077 (856-829-2700).
