Robert O. Steedle, age 87, of Palmyra, passed away on May 5, 2018.

Robert was born and raised in Cinnaminson and was a graduate of Palmyra High School class of '48. He enlisted in the US Coast Guard, serving a tour of duty in the Aleutian Islands as a 2nd class Petty Officer, and was awarded a "Plank Holder" certificate as a member of the crew who established the Cape Serichef Loran Transmitting Station. After discharge from the Coast Guard, Bob attended Temple University's Fox School of Business, graduating Cum Laude. He retired after over 30 years in retail sales with Gimbels and Sterns.

In retirement, Bob enjoyed tinkering with anything mechanical and completing projects around his home. He and Barbara also enjoyed taking long walks or bike rides in the area, spending time in their garden, and frequent visits to Ocean City. Bob also enjoyed the many family gatherings when his grandsons would "entertain" all who were there with their impromptu acts.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Edward O. and Margaretta E. Steedle and brother, Edward. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara, daughter, Patricia (Eric) Davies, grandsons, Eric, Jr.(Brittany,) Daniel and Kevin Davies, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation for Robert will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at the Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad Street, Riverton, NJ 08077. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bob's name may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
