Rocco J. Bruno “Rocky” of Cherry Hill, NJ, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026. He was 84.

Rocco was born in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Michael and Lena (nee Tancredi). He graduated from LaSalle College in Philadelphia, which was the precursor to a successful, decades-long career in collection services where he made many life-long friends. Along the way, he met Marylynne, to whom he was a devoted husband for nearly 60 years. He and “Meem” had a bond that couldn’t be broken up until her passing in November of 2025. He loved and missed her very much and the family is happy they are together again.

Rocco loved entertaining, telling stories, being the life of the party and meeting new people. Though he would tell you until his last days, he never had a better group of allies than the band of cousins he grew up with and thought of as brothers and sisters. He loved sharing anecdotes about their adventures throughout Philadelphia and the Jersey shore, driving their parents, including his many beloved aunts and uncles, crazy with their antics.

Rocco enjoyed traveling—especially to Boothbay Harbor, ME, Annapolis, MD, and other harbor towns—coin collecting, following the Master’s golf tournament, his involvement in Rotary Club of Cherry Hill, the occasional trip to the racetrack or casino, his love of food (from Maine lobsters to a bucket of KFC), and watching sports with his group of friends at Kaminski’s in Cherry Hill.

Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his three grandchildren, and could often be found at their sporting events with copious amounts of Philly soft pretzels, munchkins, and Wendy’s chocolate frostys in hand.

Rocco was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Marylynne “Meem” or “Meemie” (nee DiBenedetto) and his brother, Michael Bruno. Rocco is survived by his devoted children, Jana L. Tidwell and her husband, Eric Tidwell, and Joseph R. Bruno; and his loving grandchildren, Jalyn Tidwell, Kayla Tidwell, and Joey Bruno.
