Samuel W.
Garrigues
Aug 26, 1941 — Aug 20, 2026
Southampton
Samuel W. Garrigues, “Goose,” of Southampton, NJ, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his family and listening to music. He was 84.
Samuel was born in Camden, NJ, to the late William Garrigues and Doris Garrigues-Knast. He graduated from Riverside High School, where he excelled in athletics, though not always in his studies. Samuel went on to attend Campbell University, where he played basketball and earned his bachelor’s degree. He served proudly in the U.S. Army National Guard, then enjoyed a long career in sales, working in the pharmaceutical/medical industry for Sorenson Research and Abbott Lab, and later for Woodall’s RV advertising.
Samuel was a longtime member of Riverton Country Club. He was an avid music lover who enjoyed cigars, reminiscing with friends, Philly sports, travelling with Dianne to Hawaii and Paris, had a great sense of humor. He loved watching his kids and grandkids games, as most important to Samuel was his family, whom he loved.
Samuel is survived by his loving wife, Dianne (nee Zwick); children, Dawn (the late Bruce) Ortlip and Micheal (Joyce Chafin) Garrigues; grandchildren, Erin Ortlip, Micheal Garrigues Jr., Giuliana Garrigues, and Mason Garrigues; sister-in-law, Sandra (Ray) Graham; brothers-in-law, Richard (Jeri) Zwick and Royal Zwick; nephew, Jason Graham; nieces, Tori Zwick, and the late Elizabeth Zwick.
Services for Samuel will be held privately.
