Sara Ann Van Emburgh (Wright) passed away peacefully Sunday morning, Aug. 19, 2018, while in the loving care of Acacia Hospice. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time of her parting. She was 94.
Sara Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, LeRoy Van Emburgh; her parents, Arthur Pratt Wright, Sr. and Virginia Louise Simons Wright; and her brother-in-law Earl Van Emburgh (Claire dec.).
Sara Ann is survived by her; brother, Arthur Wright Jr. (Anne); sisters, Ginny Hopkins (William Hopkins Sr. dec.) and Wanda Tims (Robert Tims dec.); three children, Lee (Susie), James (Jeanne), and Susan; grandchildren, Rick (Sharon), Eric (Beth), Ryan (Jessica), Stephen, Frank (Brittany), Jaime, and SaraKate; great grandchildren, Isabelle, Luke, and James; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sara Ann was born in Palmyra and was a lifelong resident. She served her country as an Air Force Observer in the US Army, Air Force Aircraft Warning Service, during World War II.
Sara Ann was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church of Palmyra, singing in the church's choir and participating in the church's altar guild during her 94 years as a parishioner. Sara dedicated her time as a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Beverly Maqueda Chapter (276).
She was a graduate of Palmyra high School, Class of 1943.
Sara Ann was married in March of 1946 and celebrated her 70 years of loving marriage. Sara enjoyed spending time raising all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, painting, and sitting on the porch on warm summer days.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad Street, Riverton, NJ 08077, and to attend her funeral service at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Christ Episcopal Church, 638 Parry Avenue, Palmyra, NJ 08065. Burial will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in North Hannover Township, NJ.
