Sean Michael Sweeney, age 36, left this world suddenly and all too soon on November 23, 2023.  All who knew him feel the loss of his light profoundly and are grateful for his presence in their lives.  He is survived by his loving family, his wife, Natalia Lepore Hagan, his parents, Michael and Maureen Sweeney; his sister Erin Rossell, her husband James and his godson, Laine Rossell; his sister Meaghan Keenan, her husband Sean, niece Madison Keenan, nephew Logan Keenan and his son Rylan Sweeney whom he shared with his mother, Jessica Latacz, and JJ and Lincoln Horigan.  He also leaves behind the love of many aunts, uncles and cousins.  They are joined by his second family, Bob Hagan, Michele Lepore Hagan and Jimmy Hagan.

Sean lived his first five years in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia, then grew up in Cinnaminson, NJ where he loved building tree forts and exploring the Pompeston Creek.  He played drums in both the Cinnaminson High School marching band and orchestra.  Sean also studied at Columbia College in Chicago for 2 years.  He returned to Philadelphia in 2010 when he bought a home in Fishtown.

Sean's passion and career was as a IATSE stagehand.  He worked at most every major touring theater in the continental United States. His passion for theater and stagecraft took him around the world as an automation technician and carpenter for performances across Asia and Europe. In every port of call, he brought unbridled joy to friends and strangers who received his small acts of generous kindness. It was on tours that he met some of his closest friends and ultimately his wife, Natalia.

A photographer with an inspiring eye and a quiet confidence, Sean set out to view and understand the edges of our world – from infinite deserts to lush underwater landscapes accessible only via scuba diving. Sean was an adventurer and an explorer who loved life on planet earth.

A gatherer of people, Sean has friends from around the world and all stages of of his life.  All are invited to celebrate his life.

A visitation for Sean will be held on Friday, December 1st from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and Saturday, December 2nd from 9:15am to 10:45am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am, all at Sacred Heart Church, 4th & Linden Ave., Riverton, NJ 08077.
