Sharon Daly
Christenson
Oct 4, 1953 — Oct 9, 2024
Sharon Daly Christenson of Tabernacle, born October 4, 1953, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024, surrounded by family. She is survived by her son Jason (Lisa) and grandchildren, Jakub and Allyson, of Maple Shade. Also surviving are her siblings, Cathy Daly of Medford and Paul Daly (Geri) of Boston MA. Sharon will be sorely missed by many cousins on both sides of her family, and many friends.
Sharon was the daughter of the late Paul V and Catherine H Daly of Riverton. She attended Holy Cross High School and upon graduation from Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing in Wynnewood PA, married Paul Christenson of Iowa. They lived in Iowa, occupied in farming, but returned to New Jersey, settling in Tabernacle. Sharon worked for many years as a visiting nurse, retiring early due to the onset of MS at age 46. In subsequent years she suffered multiple bouts of cancer, but never surrendered to the disease, fighting and questioning until the end, becoming a symbol of courage and tenacity to many. Her resolution to be useful to her family and many friends never wavered, including traveling recently to the West Coast for family occasions, as well as frequent trips to her favorite casinos, travelling on her trusty scooter.
Sharon was an avid 'sweepstaker', winning frequently including cash, sports tickets, other prizes, and the ultimate last year, a new car! Through this avocation as well as serious couponing, Sharon expanded her world with new friends and acquaintances, whom she cherished. She would always be thinking of how to share her winnings with family and others whom she met along the way.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Sharon's life on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024 at Medford Quaker meeting house, 14 Union St., Medford, NJ 08055 at 11:00 AM, with luncheon following at 12:00 PM.
