Obituary

Stephen Skedzielewski, age 56, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on October 24, 2024, following a battle with cancer.

Stephen was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Margaret and Anthony Skedzielewski and remained a lifelong resident of the city. Stephen was a proud graduate of Northeast Catholic High School, where he was standout member of the Basketball Team. His love of basketball continued, and he spent many years as a Basketball Coach for local Youth Leagues and for the Girl's Basketball Teams at Neumann-Goretti Catholic High School in South Philadelphia. Stephen proudly coached his own children along with many other children over the years.

Stephen had a successful career in sales and for the past several years worked as a sales representative for Fessenden Hall Inc. in Pennsauken, NJ. He loved to travel, especially his regular visits to Disney World and Knoebels with his children. Stephen thrived on spending his time with his family and friends. Most of all, Stephen was a devoted father whose life revolved around his three children and for whom he would do anything.

Stephen was predeceased by his parents, Margaret (nee Helverson) and Anthony Skedzielewski, and by his nephew, Patrick Gaffney, and his niece, Megan Morgan. He is survived by his beloved children, Stephen Skedzielewski, Danielle Skedzielewski and Shane Skedzielewski, and by his dear siblings, Marge Gaffney (Gary), Anthony Skedzielewski, Stanley Skedzielewski, and Theresa Sabato (Dominic). Also surviving are his nephews & nieces, Christopher Gaffney (Leigh Anne), Sean Skedzielewski (Francesca), Rebecca Steiger (Michael), Anthony Skedzielewski, and Eric Sabato, along with his great-nephews & nieces, Annabelle, Michael, Charlotte and Henry. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Skedzielewski and Maureen Skedzielewski, as well as by his many lifelong friends since childhood and all of his friends from North Catholic High School.
