Tom was proud to be born and raised in Beverly, NJ. He was a graduate of Burlington City High School, Class of 1957. He began working as a teenager for Walt Snover at the Walter B. Snover Funeral Home, Beverly, where he was introduced to his life's work in Funeral Service. Tom graduated from Eckels College of Mortuary Science, Philadelphia in 1961 after which he went on to work as a Licensed Funeral Director full-time for Rosenberg's Raphael-Sacks Funeral Home, Philadelphia for several years, along with working part-time for many other South Jersey Funeral Homes. In 1964 Tom purchased property in Riverton, NJ, and in May 1965 he opened his own funeral home, Weber Funeral Home. For more than 57 years he lived there and managed the funeral home where he faithfully served many area families, neighbors and friends. He believed in taking care of people as best he could, providing guidance and comfort, and built the foundation for the funeral home to continue his legacy of service and compassion into the future.
Most of all, Tom, or "Tommy" to many of his friends, was a "people person". He was very involved with his children, Elizabeth and Tom, in whom he took great pride, and had deep love for his grandson, Jason. He made friends easily and considered his many friends as his family, always sharing a story or joke and thriving on his social interactions. Tom's impact on the lives he touched will always remain.
Tom was a longtime member of Christ Episcopal Church, Riverton, where he served on the Vestry for many years. He was also very active in his community having served as President, Officer or active member in many organizations including, the Burlington County Funeral Directors Association, the Palmyra-Riverton-Cinnaminson Rotary Club, the Auxiliary for VFW Post 3020 Delran, The Edgewater Park Sports Club, the former Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 279 Riverside, the Polish American Citizens Club, AC of Beverly, the Fraternal Order of Masons (Covenant Lodge #161 and Beverly-Riverside Lodge #107), Riverton Country Club, the NJ State Funeral Directors Association and several others. Tom proudly served Riverton as a Borough Council Member for several years in the early 1980's and actively supported the area he loved as his home.
Among his many hobbies, Tom enjoyed antique cars, especially Corvettes, and was passionate about fishing. He loved to be on the water with his friends, sport fishing off the coast of New Jersey, The Outer Banks, Costa Rica, and his regular trips for stripers or anything else they could catch in the Chesapeake Bay.
