Walter T.
Dickinson
Aug 29, 1941 — Dec 26, 2021
The light of the world grew dimmer on the evening of Sunday, December 26, 2021. Beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, Walter T. Dickinson, Jr. (Skeet), passed away peacefully at home after a long-fought battle with cancer.
Skeet was born at home on August 29, 1941. He lived his entire life in Palmyra and graduated from PHS in 1959. After graduation he joined the National Guard/Army and served for 5-1/2 years. Initially he was a draftsman, but spent most of his life as a truck driver for North Penn and Roadway.
In 1963 he married his "hometown honey" and they spent 58 fantastic years together. He enjoyed spending summers in Beach Haven West and loved everything about LBI. Skeet's interests included antiquing, caning & refinishing furniture. He was a Civil War buff, an avid reader, always had the History Channel on TV, and back in the day, was sometimes known to watch MTV. He had a love of folk music, his favorite being Bob Dylan. At family gatherings everyone wanted Skeet on their team when playing trivia games.
Above all else, he was the most loving and caring father and thought his grandchildren, Dylan and Sarah, walked on water.
He was predeceased by his parents Mildred (Speer) Dickinson of Riverton and Walter T. Dickinson, Sr. of Philadelphia, his brother Steven and his wife Anna of Delran. He is survived by his wife, Leslie (Bennett) Dickinson, of Palmyra, his daughters, Leigh Bridge (Terry) and Kimberly Cioci (Jason) both of Riverton and grandchildren Dylan Cioci (18) and Sarah Bridge (15); his brother Wayne (Carol), sisters and brothers in law: Patsy (Larry), Linda (Mike), John (Anne), Clayton (Vicki), Cheryl Anne (Bob), Jim (Lisa), 30 nieces and nephews and 21 great nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
The family will receive guests on Monday Jan 3 rd at 10am at Christ Episcopal Church, Riverton. A Memorial Service will follow at 11 am at the church, followed by burial in the Church's Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Christ Episcopal Church, Riverton or Samaritan Hospice,
