William J. Crowther of Palmyra passed away on Dec. 7 ^th , he was 73.

William was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late John and Helen Crowther.  At 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he proudly served two tours in Vietnam with the 93rd Engineers in the 9th Infantry Division.  William then went on to have a 35 year career with the Borough of Palmyra. He served on many committees during his time there. The Tree Commission, Board of Health, War Memorial, and Emergency Management Committees, to name a few.

William was a co-founder and past Vice President of the Vietnam Veterans Association Chapter 899 of Burlington County. He helped establish this while maintaining membership to Disabled American Veterans Chapter 42 , Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3020, American Legion Post 146 and Mobile Riverine Force Association Vietnam.

In his free time he enjoyed fishing, trips to Cape May, and spending time with his grandchildren.

William was preceded in death by his wife, Michele (nee Cherubin.)  He is survived by his son Travis Sundermier & his wife, Danielle Kirk, grandchildren, Riley and Ryan Sundermier, siblings Margaret Bryan (Fred), Christine Inge (Norman), Robert Crowther, John Crowther (Anna Maria), and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for William will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 14 ^th from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm, at Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad St., Riverton, NJ 08077.  Military honors and entombment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Burlington, NJ.
